EEL Energy designs, builds and markets hydrogenators that capture the kinetic energy from rivers and oceans. We disrupt traditional hydro-kinetic turbines with a proprietary technology inspired by 500 million years of nature R&D.
Our revolutionary generators create electric power from the undulation of a membrane placed in a water flow, replicating the movements that propel the fastest fish and mammals on earth. Our proven and patented technology mitigates the many shortfalls of kinetic turbines; the EEL is efficient at low water flows, offers a superior handling of biofouling, debris and entanglement, and is not subject to cavitation. It is cost-efficient, wildlife friendly and scalable to several MW per unit.
Our current range includes a 30-50KW machine for river application, and we are developing a 1MW generator for tidal and oceanic currents.
The EEL recently won prestigious awards from the BPI, the European Commission and Dassault Systèmes. EEL is nature’s choice for Marine Power !
